Thanks for the comments dear Dave and also for the video link. Tarja is so fabulous than each opportunity to show her beautiful work and talent is very welcome and I like a lot what you are doing my friend ! I agree 100% with the words of Amanda below. Have a very nice and happy day..;)
@Frederyck Please feel free to link any of your uploads to mine too that fit with the songs/themes. Great when we work to add to the artists fans and get their talents more recognised widely as they deserve.
Yes Amanda raises a very good point, time to let things go (let TH drift off in Tarja's dust) LOL.
Thank Frederyck. Cheers!!!
NICE live version of this great Tarja masterpiece! I think in this song she is referring to her nasty departure from Nightwish and her eventual resurrection as an artist quite capable of carrying her own self to the spot light without the chains of commitment or designated to a subordinate role in a band.
However, I do have some reservations. I have heard these metaphors in some of her songs before about how unfairly she was treated by her former bandmates. No doubt in my mind she has a legitimate right to feel hurt and disrespected but......geez Tarja, It's time to move on! Don't get me wrong Tarja's a gifted singer with an absolute tonne of talent and her stage presence is well worth the price of a ticket. She needs to experiment with her other feelings and dive into other projects that lead her away from Nightwish and such. Only then can she truly compare herself to the mythical bird that rose from the ashes. The Phoenix. Nice response to Frederyck's feature Dave! Two for the price of one! Bye now!
@EuroGirl As ever you know how i often tend to prefer the live versions, and Tarja really does shine live.
Oh yes i think she sure is referring (not for the first time) on her departure from the "shadows", and coming into a light of her Own.
I do very much take your point though about her moving on. Yet i see though that she wrote these songs when her wounds were still very raw, and perhaps knowing that many of her fans from her NW days wanted to hear, maybe liked the NW references. Somehow though now this has created a "rod for her own back" in that the fans want to still hear the songs live. But i very much doubt that she sings these songs in her day to day life and keeps the bitterness going. She has two new albums out now, The Brightest Void, and The Shadow Self. Both of which i have only heard a little, and to be honest struggling a little with them. I will have to find time to listen more, and hopefully there are no TH references there. You make a very good point about her truly becoming the phoenix she sings of here. Thanks Amanda. Peace.
@CrashZone2 Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Angie. Its not really a "They" though, she does use these guys most of the time as backing band but its Tarja Solo really. Not too sure about her doing outdoor, apparently she is very keen on the acoustics of a venue being just as she wants it to be.
