Roderick David Stewart, a.k.a. Rod the Mod and later as Rod STEWART was born on 10 January 1945, at 507 Archway Road, Highgate, North London (UK). His father Robert was Scottish and mother Elsie was English. They have three sons and two daughters, Rod is the youngest, born at home during the Second Wolrd war. Rod is a British singer-songwriter in the Rock, pop, blues rock, soul, folk rock, hard rock, soft rock genres but he is also a guitar, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, piano player and for sure one of the best selling artists of all time. He is also Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE).
Rod left school at age 15 and worked briefly as a silk screen printer. Spurred on by his father, his ambition was to become a professional footballer.
